Jessica Brooks Pakinkis

Jessica Lorraine Brooks Pakinkis, 42, entered eternal rest on July 3, 2024 in Las Cruces, NM. She was preceded in death by her Grandma Marie, Grandpa Mel, and her Opa Walter in Germany. Jessica is survived by her husband, Tony; her son, Nikolai; her parents, Chris, and Angelika Brooks; her brothers, Kevin, and Brian; and her maternal Oma, Gertrud Michel. She is also survived by many extended family and friends, here, and in Germany.

Jessica was born on September 8th in Wuerzburg, Germany to Chris and Angelika Brooks. In 1983 her brother Kevin, and in 1987 her brother Brian, joined the family.

As a military brat she moved a lot with her family; from Germany to Fort Lewis, WA; to Flint, MI; back to Germany, and finally settled down in El Paso, TX in 1991.

She graduated from Montwood High School in 1999. She then earned her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from New Mexico State University.

Jessica and Tony married on September 16, 2002. Their son Nikolai completed their family.

She taught preschool at Alpha School in Las Cruces, NM and spent her life dedicated to the education and nurturing of children. Jessica is very loved and will be dearly missed by her family, from near and far, her friends, all of her little students from Alpha School, and all the people that had the gift of knowing her.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a Chapel Service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Monday, July 15, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
