Jessica Anne (Steelman) Saylor, 38, of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on June 10, 1987, to Thomas and Tammy Steelman.
Jessica grew up and attended school in the Tecumseh and Tulsa areas. She enlisted in the United States Navy in 2007 working as an aviation mechanic and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon before her tour ended in 2008.
Jessica worked several different types of jobs and finally settled for painting. She was a member of the painters’ union while living in St. Charles, Missouri, and was currently employed with Kepler’s Painting in Seminole, Oklahoma. She also enjoyed helping her friend, Miss Judy of Diamond L Kennels in Seminole, take care of and clean up after the puppies at the kennel.
Jessica was predeceased by her stepfather, Rick Hasbell; brother, Jeffery “Mikey” Brookshire; and sister, Chole “Nikki” Trotter.
Jessica is survived by her mother, Tammy Morris of Shawnee, OK; father and stepmother, Thomas and Alysia Steelman of Tulsa, OK; brother, Scott Steelman of Shawnee; maternal grandmother, Becky Morris of Shawnee; special aunt, LaNeal and favorite uncle, Joey; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
Jessica also leaves behind her two children, Raelynn and Killian Lopez. Jessica loved her children more than anything in this world. Her greatest wish was that they would always be surrounded by love, stability, and faith. In her final days, her heart’s desire was that Raelynn and Killian be adopted by Jacob and Jamie Lopez. Together, they often said the children were “blessed because they have 2 Moms”—a reflection of the special bond they shared and the love that carried them all.
Jessica will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her contagious laugh, and her love for the color yellow – a shade as bright and warm as the light she brought into every room. Though her time here was far too short, her memory will continue to shine through her children and all who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, 3:00 p.m., at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.
