Jessie L. Borror, 92 Edmond, Oklahoma, formerly of Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away Saturday (September 18, 2010) in Edmond. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (September 22, 2010) at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetery. Pastor Ted Brown will officiate. Jessie was born on a farm ten miles west of Garnet, Kansas on June 18, 1918. She was the youngest of three daughters born to Ada Jane Nichols and Richard Goode. She was a member of the McCabe Methodist Church of Garnet, Kansas Jessie married Warren "Bud" Borror in 1935. Three children were born of this union, son Jack (Deceased), daughter Mary Lou Givens, of Edmond, Oklahoma and son Ken Borror of Oklahoma City. The Borrors moved to Arkansas City in 1948 and to the Parker Community in 1956. Jessie was very active in the C-4 Community. She enjoyed water aerobics and neighborhood card games. At the age of 70 she went to work at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center as a Foster Grandparent. After its closing she worked for the Head Start Program in Arkansas City. In 2001, after the death of her son, Jack, she moved to Edmond, to be near her daughter and youngest son. She lived at the Rosewood Manor and continued her swimming, bingo, and card playing. In 2007 she moved into Bradford Village Retirement Facility where she continued to enjoy life to its fullest with her new friends. Her parents, husband, son and two sisters, Marie Kraus and Hazel Borror preceded Jessie in death. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Hal and Mary Lou Givens, son Ken Borror, daughter-in-law Anna Borror of Heath, Texas. Also, four grandchildren, Darrell Borror, Cheryl and husband Trey Potter of Heath, Texas, Kelley Crittenden of Bozeman, Montana and Kody and wife Renee Givens of Edmond. Five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons, many nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends A memorial has been established with Bradford Retirement Village. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are being made through the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City, Kansas. Online condolences may be made at www.rindt-erdman.com
