Jesus Manuel Garcia (Jive), age 83, passed away on September 21st, 2025 at St. Joseph's Villa. He was born on December 25th, 1941 in Salt Lake City to Juanita Hernandez and Manuel Garcia. Jesse served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He worked for the Salt Lake school district for 17 years. Jesse was popular with the ladies and was married a few times. During his marriages he was blessed with two daughters, Trudy and Trina. Jesse was a boxer when he was younger. He loved his oldies and lowriders. He loved to tell stories to anyone who would listen. Jesse was proud of his 27 years of sobriety. Jesse enjoyed fishing as a past time. He loved his family more than anything and was happy he could help take care of his mom up until he couldn't. He is survived by his mom, Juanita Garcia, his siblings, Ernie Garcia, Richard (Sondra) Garcia, Diana (Farold) Adams, Gilbert (Norma) Garcia. His daughters, Trina (Dan) Quinones, Trudy (Jason) Martin, 7 grandkids and great grandkids. He was preceded in death by his dad, Manuel Garcia, his sister, Rosalie Salazar, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the VA hospital and to those who helped him at St. Joseph's Villa.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Jesse for many years and he was truly an original. I will miss his smile and honesty. He did indeed love the ladies and was a big flirt and was friendly and helpful to all. Everyone cared for him and respected him for his honesty. He was the genuine article and there will never be another like him. He often talked about his family and I know how much he loved you all. Rest in Peace, my friend.

when Jesse used to come in to work, I always used to play his favorite song. What does it take to win your love and he will stop right there and he says you just made my day. God bless the family.

"I´m so sorry for your loss. JESSE had such a way of lighting up a room with his ever lasting humor. I´ll always remember his jokes and his stories, and his strength, and the joy he brought just by being himself. (Never a Dull Moment with Jesse!) He will be missed. Sending you love, comfort, and a smile through the tears."

Hank and I send our condolences, love and hugs to the family. It surely saddens us to think we have lost another great friend and to us also someone we consider as a family member. We will miss him so very much. He was a very special person in our lives. Chris and Michelle were very close to him. Michelle considered him to be her second dad. I'm sure she was waiting for him with opened arms as he entered into everlasting life with our Lord. We will really miss his phone calls and visits and the time spent together over the years. God Bless him and may he rest in peace.
