Jesus Isabel Macias passed away on September 11, 2025, in El Paso, TX. Born August 11, 1960, Isabel was known for her vibrant personality, marked by her loving, funny, and stylish nature. She was a caring individual, renowned for her culinary skills, particularly her world-class enchiladas. Isabel was a cherished member of her community, actively participating in services at Abundent Church in El Paso, Texas, and Faith Assembly in Imperial, CA. Her faith was an integral part of her life, providing her with comfort and community. Her hobbies included entertaining at home, where she loved to host family and friends, sharing some of her favorite home cooked meals like chile rellenos, her mom's famous tamales, or some yummy menudo & posole. "Chavela" also cherished her yearly trips to Imperial, CA, where she visited her 11 loved siblings and abundance of nieces and nephews which she adored so much and where many beautiful memories were made. She also embraced the natural beauty of her second home in Oregon, where she enjoyed the lovely scenery of the mountains, green trees, endless rivers and camping by the ocean. Her passion for painting has grown throughout the years and now are displayed up on walls in her loved one's homes forever.
Isabel is survived by her daughter, Cristina Armstrong; granddaughter, Grace Armstrong; son, Ismael Garcia; grandchildren, Julian, Leo and Elena Garcia; her 11 brothers and sisters, Gustavo Macias, Ruben Macias, Gabriel Macias, Chava Macias, Juan Macias, Efrain Macias, Irene Robles, Ana Sandoval, Maria Macias, Lupe Gallo, and Maribel Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Escobar Macias & Maria Cristina Macias, and her dear nephew, Jacob Curiel.
Services to honor her life will be held on October 24, 2025, at Faith Assembly at 10 a.m. at 320 S. J. Street, Imperial, CA 92251. A procession will follow the services. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, leaving legacy of love, laughter, and artistic inspiration.
