Jesus Rangel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moss-Norris Funeral Home - St. Charles on Feb. 26, 2026.
Jesus R. Rangel, lovingly known as "El Gallo," age 74, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

He was born on October 13, 1951, in Tepehuanes, Durango, Mexico, to Joaquin Rangel and Josefina Navar. Jesus later made his life in Illinois, where he built a loving family and lasting legacy. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Margarita Ramirez, in Chicago, IL, and together they shared over 50 years of devotion and partnership.

Jesus had a deep love for reading and enjoyed keeping up with politics, often watching and discussing current events. He was known for sharing words of wisdom, offering thoughtful advice, and bringing laughter to family gatherings with his jokes and stories. Above all, he will be remembered as a kind and devoted husband and a loving, steady presence in the lives of those who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Margarita; his daughters, Marisa Rangel (Larry Bowels) and Francisca Rangel; his stepchildren, Leticia Botello (Victor Barraza), Maria Sanchez (Imelda Sanchez), and Bobby Ramierz; his many cherished grandchildren, Josue Jesus Aquirre, Destiny Bennett, Devina Rangel, Kaden Bowles, Jerry R. Bowles, Sylvia Barraza, Erik Teran, Victor Barraza, Raul Botello, Iris Castellanos, Johnathan Ibarra, Lolly Ibarra, Vanessa Barra, Alfonso Ramirez, Bernabe Ramirez, Dinora Ramirez, and Bobby Jr. Ramirez; his great-grandchildren, Melody Phipps, George Barraza, Gonzalo Barraza, Raul Barraza, Gabriela Barraza, Eliana Teran, Erik Teran II, Christopher Barraza, Victoria Barraza, and various other great-grandchildren; siblings, Eduardo Rangel, Monica Rangel Mora, and Javier Rangel, and as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will continue to honor his memory.

Jesus leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, humor, and family that will be carried on for generations.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles, IL 60174, from 12:00 P.M. Noon until 2:30 P.M. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:30 P.M at the funeral home.
