Jewell Faye (Sager) Richards, 91, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Jewell was born April 22, 1933, in Parker County, daughter of Samuel P. Sager and Eula Carra (Fife) Sager. She met the love of her life, David Andrew Richards, Jr., and they were married on May 9, 1953, and they would go on to spend nearly 61 happy years together.
Jewell had a 20-year career as an LVN at Campbell Memorial Hospital.
In her lifetime, Jewell enjoyed bowling in leagues in both Fort Worth and Mineral Wells. She was also an avid fan of Texas Rangers baseball.
In the mornings, she could be found working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid reader and would read an average of three to four books a week. She also enjoyed taking time to relax while listening to her favorite music.
Of all of her interests in life, her first love was her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and one of her favorite past times was having coffee with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Carra Sager; husband, David Richards; brother, Quincy Sager; and sister, Alta Galloway.
Survivors include her son, Dexter Richards (Debara Craft), of Weatherford; daughter, Donna Thomas and husband, Todd, of the Zion Hill Community; grandchildren, Lisa Richards-Arbogast and husband, Tyler, Amanda Thompson-Haynes, Stephanie Thompson, Jerad Thompson, Trevor Thomas, Garrett Thomas; great-grandchild, William Arbogast; brother, Preston Sager; sister, Joy Sager Gober; brother-in-law, Bob Richards and wife, Ruby; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
