Jeya Durai Obituary
Born in Madurai, India on January 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Dhanaraj and Padma Periaiah Irudayasamy, and wife of the late Solomon David Durai.
She lived in India, Germany, New York and in Somerset, NJ since the year 2000. She served as a Professor of Botany for 25 years in India.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sophia Durai and Suresh Subramanian; as well as three grandchildren, Kevin, Rahana and Sabina and a large extended family in India.
Funeral services officiated by Pastor Jonathan Bangera will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, 10 East Main Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.
Masks are REQUIRED to be worn inside the church. Limited seating is available in the sanctuary due to Covid protocols as well.
The church service will be livestreamed for friends and family in India and those who cannot physically attend. The link is posted on Jeya's "Tribute Wall" and will start shortly before the service begins around 10:45 AM (8:15 PM Indian Standard Time).
