Jill McCool Obituary

Jill Ann McCool, 61, of Wapakoneta, passed away after a 7 year battle with neuroendocrine cancer on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital. She was born in Lima, Ohio on February 3, 1963, to James and Donna (McCool) Hern who both survive in Wapakoneta.

She is also survived by her children: Abbey (Chris Ross) Miner and Alex (Kate) Miner; grandchildren: Makayla Miner, Skylar Schmerge, Elijah Thompson, Valerie Schmerge, Amelia Miner, and Ellena Miner; siblings: Randy (Tammy) Hern, Paula (Don) Faulder, Nanette (Chad) Poe, Angela Elijah, and nieces and nephews: Ashlie, Tori, Amanda, Stephanie, Kristin, Sam, Shelby and her dog, Dash.

Jill was a strong woman and an old soul. Her encouragement, advice and wisdom touched the lives of many people. She had a natural ability to see the world with kindness and clarity. In both her personal life and in her career as a social worker and therapist she was dedicated to helping others always offering gentle guidance, support, love and light.
