Jill Sue Megiveron, full of joy and resilience, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, in Garden City, Michigan, at the age of 67. Born on January 12, 1958, in Pontiac, Michigan, Jill's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering zest for life.
Jill's journey began as the cherished daughter of Ron and Phyllis Adkins, both of whom predeceased her. Her story was one of connection and lifelong bonds, as she shared 28 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Mike Megiveron. Their romance blossomed from a shared love of dance and music, their paths crossing at a karaoke night Mike hosted through his country radio station. Jill, with her love for dancing, caught Mike's eye, and together they created a life filled with harmony and rhythm.
A devoted mother, Jill's legacy continued through her children Sabrina (John) Stough, Edward (Monica) Brothers, and step-sons Michael (Stefani) Megiveron and Ryan Megiveron. She instilled in them the values of determination, support, and the importance of family. Jill's love extended to her grandchildren Derek (Taylor) Brothers, Emily (TJ) Dean, Chloe Brothers, and Ezekiel Megiveron, and she was blessed to see the joy of great-grandchildren Avery, Ryan, and Harper.
Jill's brothers, Rick (Carnette) Adkins, Vince (Diana) Adkins, and the late Perry Adkins, along with Mike's brother Kevin Megiveron and sister Lorene (Richard) Reid, remember her as a loving and supportive sister who was always there with a kind word and a smile.
Dancing was not merely a hobby for Jill; it was a passion that she pursued with dedication and grace. She danced most of her life, taught classes, and even earned awards and trips to competitions in Nashville. Her favorite was the 2-step, a dance that symbolized her approach to life-graceful, fun, and always in sync with her partner.
Jill's determination was legendary. If she set her mind to something, she achieved it, no matter the odds. This strength shone brightly as she faced numerous health challenges over the years, always emerging with her positivity intact. Her laughter was infectious, and her ability to remain optimistic, never uttering a bad word about anything, was an inspiration to all who knew her.
An avid card player, Jill loved the camaraderie and challenge of games like Euchre, Hand and Foot, and Shanghai Rummy. Family gatherings were her delight, filled with the warmth of shared stories, the roar of laughter, and the comfort of being surrounded by loved ones.
Jill's support for her favorite teams, the Detroit Lions and Tigers, was unwavering. She enjoyed rooting for them with the same loyalty and passion she showed in every aspect of her life.
To describe Jill as loving is an understatement. Her heart knew no bounds, and her spirit was a light that could never be dimmed. Her enduring strength, boundless love, and the joy she brought to every room will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her remarkable presence.
As we bid farewell to Jill Sue Megiveron, we celebrate a life well-lived, a dance beautifully danced, and a game played with both skill and laughter. Her memory will continue to dance in the hearts of those she has left behind, guiding them with the same love and strength she generously shared throughout her extraordinary life.
