Jill L. Wargo, aged 70, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, OH. She was born on January 19, 1954, in McKeesport, PA, to Freeman and Vera (Brown) Hite. On September 19, 1975, Jill married Larry A. Wargo, and they recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.
Jill grew up in West Mifflin, PA, and lived over 30 years in Toronto, OH, where she raised her family and dedicated 20 years to working with Toronto City Schools. In 2010, Jill and Larry relocated to Andover, OH.
She worked as an instructional aide and managed the computer-based "Write to Read" program at Lincoln Elementary School in Toronto for many years. Jill facilitated the "Coats for Kids" program, always seeking ways to help others with her kind heart. Jill attended Andover United Methodist Church, where she volunteered and supported numerous mission trips. Jill cherished time with her four grandchildren and family and loved visiting Walt Disney World.
Jill is survived by her husband, Larry A. Wargo of Andover; her daughter, Jamie (Chris) Keyser of Chardon, OH; her grandchildren, Leah, Kenzie, Ellie, and Christopher; and her brothers, Norman (Judy) Hite of Pleasant Hills, PA, and Robert (Sandra) Hite of Detroit, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Kurt Wargo, who passed away in 2010.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Andover United Methodist Church, 181 South Main St., Andover, OH 44003, with Pastor Jason Hockran officiating. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 PM. Please join us for dinner and fellowship immediately after the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andover UMC, PO Box 207, Andover, OH 44003.
