Jillian R Ludwig

Jillian Ludwig, 18, of Wall Township tragically and senselessly passed away on Wednesday, November 8th at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. Jillian was born in Brick, NJ, where she lived until the age of 5, when her family moved to Wall Township. She attended Old Mill School, Wall Intermediate School, and Wall High School, which she graduated from in June of 2023. Jillian was a freshman attending Belmont University in Nashville, majoring in Music Business. Since a very young age, Jillian found joy and gave joy through music. She sang and served as Cantor for years at St. Mark's Church in Sea Girt, and also sang and played guitar with the music ensemble at the Church of Brielle. Jillian was heavily involved with Lakehouse Music Academy in Asbury Park, singing and playing guitar and bass with multiple bands as well as teaching young music students. She played both solo and with her bands in many local spots including The Stone Pony, Asbury Lanes and Count Basie Theater, along with some gigs in NYC. In 2022 Jillian initiated a service project called "Playing it Forward", where she would play her music at local establishments and events and donate all tips and proceeds to various organizations that help other musicians in need, including children with inadequate access to instruments and music education. Jillian was a passionate music enthusiast in every way and sought to bring happiness and support to others through music. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and her boyfriend, going to the beach and exploring nature, listening to live music and, of course, performing. Jillian was a radiant and talented young woman full of enthusiasm, compassion, and love. Her music, service, and positive attitude made the world a better place. In her short 18 years, Jillian made a remarkable impact on countless people and her spirit will continue to bring light to the world.
Jillian is survived by her parents, Matt and Jessica Ludwig, her brothers, Shane and Trevor; maternal grandmother Patti Byrne, of Brick; maternal grandparents Ray and Peggy Thorn of Sea Girt; and paternal grandmother Rosemary Ludwig, of Manasquan. Jillian is also survived by her aunt and uncle Caitlin and Joe Accurso, and cousins Christopher and Andrew, of Sea Girt; uncle Rich Ludwig of Islamorada, FL; uncle and aunt Michael and Nancy Ludwig, and cousins Brendan and Ryan, of Boca Raton, FL; aunt Christine Blocklinger, of Rising Sun, MD; uncle and aunt John and Robin Ludwig and cousin Zara of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Austin, TX; and uncle Kevin Ludwig, of Manasquan. Jillian is also survived by her loving boyfriend, Thomas Lawrence, of Wall Township. Jillian is predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Richard Ludwig, and her uncles, Mark Blocklinger, and Dennis Ludwig.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, November 16 th from 4 to 8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 am on Friday November 17, 2023, at St. Mark's Church in Sea Girt, NJ. Interment to follow at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan, NJ.
