Jim Davis Obituary

JIM DAVIS Jim Davis, 68, of White Cloud, passed away peacefully on 1/13/25 at home in his recliner. He was born on 12/14/56 to Billy and Phyllis (Keller) Davis in Falls City, NE. He was a proud member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. He was a 1975 graduate of Hiawatha High School. After high school, he pursued an Auto Body certification in Hastings, NE. Jim was married to his love and best friend, Wanda (Robertson) on 10/11/1981; they were married for 43 years. Jim was a hard worker his entire life. He worked in the construction industry for nearly all his life. He worked several years for Babcock Sales and later for Jade Millwrights. He found his true calling at Local Union 441 Plumbers and Pipefitters where he worked up until retirement. Jim enjoyed the work and brotherhood of the Union. He then slowed down his pace and worked at Hiawatha Elementary School as the janitor. He truly enjoyed seeing the kids each day and helping out the staff. In his spare time, you could find him in his shed where enjoyed working on his 1963 Chevy Impala, his first car. He also loved fishing, traveling, and being the best "Pa" to his eight grandkids. Jim is survived by his wife, Wanda of White Cloud, Jason of Tampa, FL (Stephanie of White Cloud), Jennifer (Kirk) Miller of Topeka and Cheyenne (Brandon) Colborn of White Cloud, grandchildren Kailey, Christian, Gray, McKenzy, Jax, Letty, Sabrina, and Sway. He is also survived by brothers: Bob (Cathy) Davis, and Kenny Davis; a sister, Lynn (JR) Scott; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his beloved parents and a brother Tom. A Celebration of Jim's life is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 18, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Tony French will officiate. Friends may sign the register book Thursday until 4:30 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7:30 Friday evening. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Jim Davis Memorial Fund sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7th St., 66434. For anyone attending services, please dress casually. Jim was always in his blue jeans. www.chapeloaksfuneralhome.com
