A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Jim Earlene Guillory will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Oberlin, with Father Pradeep Gali officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Soileau, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Guillory, 77, of Oberlin, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Lafayette, LA.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending time outdoors, riding his four-wheeler, and attending Saturday Mass with his sister, Semonia. He cherished weekends with his son, Mark, breakfast outings and Walmart trips with his son, Carl, and long phone conversations with his sister, Julliann. He will deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Jean Guillory; his parents, Joseph and Aurdlene Guillory; three brothers, Paul Collin Guillory, Ferris Guillory, and McCezle Simon; two sisters, Marcelene Ceasar and Shirley Ann Guillory; and two grandsons, Brian McCoy, III and Kaison Berry.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include two sons, Mark Guillory (Anitra) of Eunice, and Carl Guillory of Monroe; one daughter, Amy Berry (Tim) of Oberlin; two step sons, Arthur Popillion of Westlake, and Michael Green (Tan) of Iowa; five step daughters, Page Vallery of Dallas, Texas, Janet Vallery of Lake Charles, Karen Vallery of Westlake, Vanessa Williams (Lawrence) of Kinder, and Stephanie Williams (Deuce) of Elton; two sisters, Semonia Harmon of Oberlin, and Julliann Ross (DeTroy) of Houston, Texas; one godson, Larry Harmon (Rosylan) of Kinder; two goddaughters, Mary Esther LeBlanc of Oberlin, and Jennifer Fontenot of Lake Charles; and host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Visitation will resume at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. until time of departure to the church.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: William Guillory, Ge'Ani Guillory, Calvin Thomas, Brian McCoy, Donnavyn McCoy, and Dewayne Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Whitman Guillory, Don Antoine, Gary Fontenot, John Ceasar, Doc Berry, Werlin Guillory, and Mark Powell.
