Thank you for your sacrifice.

Jim was always my favorite. I used to occasionally hear him as a kid, on my old tube radio, from a station in Rochester, NY. RIP

I called jane on Friday dec 13 as soon as I read it and cried profusely . I was front row at his last performance in the Allen room where he shared the evening with John Abercrombie and Peter Bernstein. Seeing my friend in a wheelchair did not sap his vigor. Somehow I was moved to kiss him on his right cheek as I hugged him. We recently talked on the phone as he called me about a unique musical card I sent him. He told me Charlie Parker would have loved that card! I deeply miss Jim since I have known him since the early 60s as a teenage player. Words are incredibly feeble and unable to express how deeply he was cherished around the world. I cry every day for my dear,dear, teacher and friend. That oh so warm and loving human being known by the name of Jim Hall!

My thoughts and prayers for the Hall family, friends and all the great musicians who were close to Jim Hall. Our Jazz family has lost a great musician who will truly be missed. On a bright note, we should all be thankful for all the music Jim left us to listen to. Thanks for your music Jim. Rest in Peace.

Mr. Hall's family has my sincere sympathy. I was fortunate enough to hear Jim play in St. Louis in 2001. I talked my way backstage after the show, and Jim couldn't have been nicer in spending a few minutes with me and autographing my old Gibson catalog.

I've always felt connected through his music. Condolences to his family. Beautiful person and music. Thank you for what you gave us.

I was privileged to have the opportunity to see his show with Joe Lovano earlier this year. He was humble, humorous, and played with immaculate emotion.

Jim Hall, you will always be a guitar hero of mine. You're always in the mix of influences on me whenever I pick up my guitar and play. All I can say is thanks!

very shocked to hear of the passing of one of the great guitarists in jazz. may god bless and comfort your family at this very sad time. now Jim is playing in that great jam session in heaven now. thank god we will always have his great music to remember him by. may you rest in peace Jim thank you for your wonderful music.
