My best memory of Coach Harley was not a good memory at the time. I didn't agree with Coach on my "playing time" as a walk-on in my Junior year. His comment to me in practice on this day was," stop pouting and do something."
In my adult life I would have to say that I carry Jim's words of wisdom often. Don't like the way your life is going? "Do something about it." I wish I could have shared with Jim the athletic and scholastic accomplishments of my children. 2 Indiana basketball State Championships. 1 Yale University Academic Scholarship Graduate / 4 year starter in football. 1 Baseball scholarship athlete - 4 year starter and a graduate from Xavier University. 1 volleyball Scholarship at Bates College / Masters at Brown. (Academic Scholarship). 1 Masters (Scholarship) at Indiana University. 1- MBA from Duke University. 4 Great Children that didn't pout (not that the road wasn't difficult) and "did something." Rest in Peace Coach.
