James Michael "Jim" McGohan, 83 of Griffin passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Brightmoor Rehab Center.

He was born on October 26, 1941, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Jim was born to the late Don McGohan and Rosalie McBrayer McGohan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Ron) Johnson; brother, Donny McGohan.

Jim, together with his parents, owned McGohan Electronics, a renowned American-made company that specialized in manufacturing amplifiers for over 60 years. He lovingly and honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, a role he carried with great pride throughout his life. An avid sportsman, Jim enjoyed curling, golfing, bowling and bike riding, and he proudly played in the Sun City Senior Softball League until he was 80 years old. He leaves behind a love and memory that will always be held dear.

Those left to cherish Jim's memory are his wife of 57 years, Helen McGohan; children, Michael McGohan (Lindsay Luker), T. Scott McGohan; sister and brother-in-law, Margi (Skip) Hafer.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home with Reverend Gordon Tippins officiating.
