Jim Reddoch Obituary

Jim Reddoch, a devoted husband, father, and man of deep faith, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025 at his residence in Aberdeen. Family and faith were the cornerstones of his life, guiding him in all that he did.

Jim often said that marrying his wife was the best thing that ever happened to him. Their love was the foundation of his life, and through her, he became part of a family whose support remained a constant source of strength for him and his own family.

A dedicated servant of his faith, Jim was elected as a deacon at Meadowood Baptist Church in Amory, MS, and later served for many years as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Aberdeen, MS. His commitment to his church and community was evident in the way he lived his life.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting, fishing, and exploring the natural world. He passed this passion on to his children, teaching them to appreciate and respect nature.

In 1973, Jim moved his family to Aberdeen, where he became a well-known and respected member of the community. His professional career spanned decades, including 20 years in the savings and loan industry, followed by 40 years in insurance sales. He concluded his working years at AutoZone, retiring in 2005.

Jim's legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Aberdeen with Rev. James Clardy and Bro. Hamp Valentine officiating. Burial will follow in the Shuqualak Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann B. Reddoch, Aberdeen; two sons, James S. Reddoch, Jr., Boston and Duke A. Reddoch, Aberdeen; one daughter, Joy Ann Bailey, Columbus; his brother, John S. Reddoch, Kiln, MS; his grandchildren, Reese Gatlin, Erin Kate Gatlin, Duke Reddoch, II, and Zachary Bailey; great grandchildren, Anson Gatlin, Freya Gatlin, Oliver Bailey, and Delilah Bailey; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Sarah Walker Reddoch; and a brother, Joe Reddoch.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Lee Pruitt, David Bourland, Arthur Brown, Al Clemons, Walt Wilson, and Terry Chailland.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Aberdeen or to a charity of choice.

Uncle Jimmy,
We haven´t connected in years, but I´m praying for you. My best memory of you was one time, years and years ago, when we were at Grandma Sarah´s. There were so many of us kids, and you took us all to Dairy Queen.
Then when I flew to Jackson for grandma´s passing and you picked me up at the airport. I left California around midnight and landed in MS mid- morning. You were ready to leave because grandma´s service was beginning soon. You will be missed, but remain in everyone´s hearts.
Love you and thank you for being in my life once upon a time.
