Died: October 20, 2025 in Streator, IL
Jim A. Rhodes, 83 of Streator passed away Monday, October 20, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator, with Pastor Julie Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Wally Roach, Thad Spellious, Rick McCloskey, Butch Vadas, Jeff Middleton and Rich Aukland. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Roach, Zander Middleton, Logan Aukland, and Austin Haynes. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service 11:00 AM.
Jim was born August 31, 1942 in Streator, a son of Kenneth and Ann (Thomas) Rhodes. He married Marjorie Byrd on April 17, 1976 in Streator. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Angela (Jerod) Chancy of Pittsburg, IL, Charlien (Robert) George of Johnston City, IL, Bill (Sharon) Rhodes, and Shane Rhodes, Wendy (Richard) Aukland, and Jamie (Jeff) Middleton, all of Streator; 9 grandchildren, Abby, Logan, Zander, Alexcia, Madisyn, Austin, Shawn, Christopher, and Kati; 6 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Joshua John Rhodes.
Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Streator. He was a former member of the Streator Lions Club for over 20 years and had been a past president and vice president.
Jim owned and operated Rhodes Auto Sales / Salvage / Service in Streator since 1980. He was a founding member of the Auto & Truck Recyclers of Illinois.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club.
