Jim Waldman Obituary

DEFIANCE - Jim Waldman, age 79 of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 15, 2025, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born in Defiance, Ohio on October 4, 1945 to J. Ralph "Bud" and Dorothy (Lang) Waldman. Jim was a 1963 graduate of Ayersville High School. He was a member of Defiance Eagles #372, Elks Lodge #147 and VFW #3360. He owned and operated Jim's TV and Appliance for over 25 years in Antwerp and Defiance. He had an extraordinary work ethic and was top salesman while employed at Sears and Volkswagen. After he retired Jim worked at "R" Bike Shop in Defiance. Jim treasured his time spent with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his children, Dawn (John) Karnes of Defiance, son Steve, daughter Michelle, and stepson, Kenny (Amy) Daeger of Defiance. He also leaves behind his sisters, Karen Odenweller, Jane (Joe) Imber, Susie Flores and Nancy (Jon) Eickenberg, brother-in-law, John Dray, and his Aunt and Uncle who were his best friends, Don and Kay Kraber.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, R. Joseph Waldman, sister, Mary Ann Dray, stepdaughter, Holly Flory, and brother-in-law, Dick Odenweller.

A private service will be held for the family at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
