Jimmie Ray Bass, 66, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away July 6, 2023. He was born September 22, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Raymond and Margaret (Bell) Bass.
Jimmie was a very intellectual, sarcastic, flamboyant, and funny man. He proudly served in the United States Army. Jimmie enjoyed anything Superhero related-from comic books to action figures. He adored his grandchildren and cherished time spent with family. He was a “Jack of all trades, Master of none.” Jimmie was artistic and created many beautiful drawings. He was a member of the American Legion and attended Highway Church of Christ.
Preceding Jimmie in death are his son, Robert Gately; parents: Margaret and Raymond Bass; and brother, Nathan Bass.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 33 years, Karen Bass of Bryant, Arkansas; two children: Sterlyn Gately of Phoenix, Arizona and Sarah Hudson and her husband Brad of Benton, Arkanasas; 8 grandchildren: Ayla, Brylie, Blakely, Jesse, Maggie, Kasen, Audrey, and Maisy; sisters: Patty, Linda, Brenda, and Peggy Brewer and husband Joe, all of Indiana; and many more family members and friends who love Jimmie and will miss him always.
Services will be held at Smith-Benton Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, with visitation held from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by memorial service at 11:00 AM.
