Jimmie Ray Dentler, 71, of Hutto, Texas passed away peacefully on October 10th, 2025. He was born on March 27th, 1954, in Taylor, Texas, to the late Herman and Nettie Jo Dentler.

Herman and Nettie raised Jimmie and his 8 older siblings in Hutto, they lived a simple Christian life.

Jimmie, known lovingly as JR by family and friends, was a hard working and devoted man who cherished the simple joys of life. He was self employed and took great pride in his work, always lending a helping hand to those around him. JR had a lifelong passion for horses, working on cars, fishing and collecting antique treasures. His easy smile and good hearted nature made him a friend to many and a beloved member of his community.

JR is preceded in death by his father, Herman Dentler; mother, Nettie Jo Dentler; and sisters: Katherine and Josephine (survived by Cecil).

He is survived by his daughters: Tonia (Dale) O'Donnell, Corrine Johnson, Christine (Mark) Covington, and Carrie Thompson; grandchildren: Tyler (Kate), Gabrielle (Will), Becca, Jayda, Kambrie, Ainsley, Magic, and Loyal; and great-grandchild Lyla. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters: Herman (Linda) Dentler, Martin Dentler, Ernestine (Jerry) Bennett, Floyd (Lyla) Dentler, Curtis (Anita) Dentler, and Carolyn (Willard) Iman.
