Mr. Jimmie W. Vance, age 78, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Magnolia Village Care & Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green, KY.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A Celebration of Life service will be held the same day, Thursday, January 23rd at 2:00 PM.
Jimmie was born on August 4, 1946 in Simpson County, KY to the late Barcus Karnes “Dick “ Vance and the late Lena Estelle (Ferrell) Vance. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Vance and Billy Ray Vance; and four sisters, Linda Towe, Betty Roach, Nadine King and Lena Mae Vance.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty (Threlkel) Vance; one son, Kelly Vance (Kerry) of Franklin, KY; three step-grandchildren, Dakota Bradstreet, Hunter Bradstreet (Kailee Nobles) and Elijah Webster; two sisters, Patsy Calvert (Wayne) of Indianapolis, IN and Joyce Sampson of Woodburn, KY; several nieces and nephews; and his Fur Baby, Miss Kitty.
Jimmie was a veteran of the National Guard. He was retired from the Detrex Corporation where he worked in maintenance. Jimmie enjoyed hunting, fishing, finding and going to flea markets, gun and knife shows and antique tractor shows.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus Health of Barren River, 101 Riverwood Ave., Suite B, Bowling Green, KY 42103. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
