Jimmy W. Bray Sr.

Jimmy William Bray, Sr. entered his Heavenly home on April 15, 2025. He was born February 20, 1942 in Oklahoma City to Jay and Lupe Bray.
Jimmy grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Columbus Elementary School and Jackson Middle School. While in school, he was active in many sports and was an incredible athlete. His team won the Little League World Series, and he was also in a Bowling league. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1960. He then enlisted into the United States Marine Corps right after high school and proudly served his country from 1960 to 1964 before being honorably discharged. Jimmy then went on to attend college at Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado and ultimately made his way back to Oklahoma City in 1977 and made his life-long career at Tinker Air Force Base in Civil Service from where He later retired. Jimmy married the love of his life, Janice Carol Bray, on April 20, 1970. They were blessed with 49 years of marriage prior to Janice's passing on December 10, 2019. They shared 4 Children.
Jimmy's family was the light of his life and his ultimate joy. He loved spending time with them above all. In addition, he was passionate about Golf and greatly enjoyed the many friends he made over the years while golfing. He was a Member of the Pan Am Golf Association of Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Janice Bray; daughter, Alisha Bray Jones; and son, Johnny Posey Bray.
Those left to continue his legacy include his daughter, Shonna Owens and husband Tim; son, Jimmy "Jimbo" Bray, Jr.; son-in-law, Joseph Jones; sister, Patricia LeClaire; sister-in-law, Mayredean Palmer; grandchildren, Ashleigh Bastian, Scott Owens, Jeff Owens, Shane and Jayci Owens, Jayce Owens, Halea and Beckham Goodner, Miraca Bray and Alex Scott, Justice Bray and Morgan Guthrie, Avery Jones and Maggie Jones; great-grandchildren, Bella,Joel and Brayden Bastian, Rush Oliver Owens, Synah Janice Scott, Jedidiah Scott ; and his companion, Carolyn Quintero. Jimmy is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
