Jimmy Leon Caughron, 89, passed away peacefully in his home on April 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ella Caughron, and is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He joined the Marine Corps when he was 19. There he found a unity and discipline that he carried throughout his life, and his motto was always “Once a Marine Always a Marine.” He later joined the American Legion and enjoyed activities with the other veterans in his post. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a passion for building things and always enjoyed being in his workshop. He had a great love for the gospel music and preaching of televangelist Jimmy Swaggart, which gave him much comfort in the last days of his life. He is with his Lord and Savior now, where there is no more pain. Till we meet you on the other side, we love you, Dad. Semper Fi.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 4, 2025, at McWhorter Funeral Home with Chaplain Lawrence Thompson officiating.
