Jimmy Wayne "Jim" Hunter, 55, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 15, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.
Jim was born on June 16, 1969, in Sedalia, MO, the son of Robert Hunter and Ruth Offenburger. On April 16, 1988, he married his soulmate, Amy Hunter, who resides in the home.
Jim had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. Whether hosting lively gatherings, crafting his own moonshine, or tinkering in his garage, Jim was always working on something with a smile on his face. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and boating. But above all, Jim cherished spending time with his family, whom he adored deeply.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Amy; his two sons, Zachary Hunter of Sedalia, and Jacob Hunter and his wife Whitney of Warrensburg; his siblings, Bennie Hunter (Pam) of Hughesville, Bobby Hunter of Sedalia, and Mary Pillars of Sedalia; two beloved granddaughters, Eliana Hunter and Maycie Hunter, both of Warrensburg; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Jim was a man who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hunter, and his brother, Donnie Hunter.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at LifePointe Church, 2921 West Broadway Blvd, Sedalia, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place at a later date at Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Zachary Hunter, Jacob Hunter, Joshua Coonce, Bennie Hunter, Bobby Hunter, and Mike Geml. Jim's granddaughters, Eliana and Maycie, will serve as honorary bearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Amy Hunter for Jimmy's grandchildren's college fund in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
