Yesterday
Jimmy was one of my best friends, even though we were miles apart - me in Oklahoma and Jimmy in Alabama. I am a King and was born in Corinth, MS. We talked often and shared many stories about history, cowboying, family genealogy, and just fun stuff. I am a King on my mother´s side (Martha Nelson King (Monnie) Norton from Corinth, MS. I visited Jimmy several times in Leighton and will always have great memories of our times together. We called each other cousins, and I am hopeful that someone will attempt to remember and put on paper all of the history that Jimmy knew and spoke about. He was definitely a treasure of information about the entire genealogy of the family dating back to the beginning. The museum that he put together in Leighton and loved is a shining example of his love of family. The first time I ever met Jimmy was when Henderson was alive and the stories of the two of them are legend. Jimmy was a loving husband to Polly and I know they are together again in Heaven. I love you Jimmy and hope to also see you again in Heaven where we can continue our fun and great conversations of our lives. God bless the King family.
