Jimmy Dale McCorkell

Jimmy McCorkell, 80, Miami, OK passed into eternal rest, June 29, 2024 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO after a long illness.

Jimmy Dale McCorkell was born July 29, 1943 in Miami, OK, the son of George and Ramona (Nutting) McCorkell. Jimmy was a life long area resident. He graduated from Wyandotte High School. Jimmy enjoyed playing basketball, loved watching all sports especially the Kansas City Chiefs, being out doors, mowing and bush hogging, going to auctions and he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Jimmy worked for Dillions in Joplin, MO as a meat cutter retiring after 33 years. Jimmy was a Deacon for many years at Commerce South East Baptist church. After the onset of his illness he started attending Miami First Baptist.

Jimmy Dale McCorkell married Connie Combs August 27, 1966 in Maimi and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Tim McCorkell and wife Michelle, Commerce, OK and Brad McCorkell and wife Kesha, Overland Park, KS; Sisters, Sue Williams, Miami, OK and Janet Praytor, Wyandotte, OK; grandchildren,Darion McCorkell Kiser and husband Mitchell, Saylor McCorkell, Annalysa McCorkell, Cori McCorkell, Devyn McCorkell; great-grandchild Jamison McCorkell and a host of extend family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2:00pm, Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Miami First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Ed Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Ottawa Indian Cemetery, Miami, OK.
