Moretto, Jimmy, 81, died on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Mr. Moretto was born and raised in New York City, where he met and married, Barabra Ann (nee Doxey), moving to Lyndhurst soon after where he has lived for 59+ years. Jimmy always worked hard. He worked for Metropolitan Life, a printing company, then a bread business all while in New York City. He was co-owner of Nina's & Jim's Luncheonette on the corner of 2nd Ave and Ridge Road in Lyndhurst until 1974, when he began working at the Rutherford Post Office at the counter for some 20 years before retiring. Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann (nee Doxey) ON September 28, 2023 they would be married 60 years, by his loving daughter, Gina Jacangelo & her late husband, Victor Jacangelo (5/28/22), by his son, Rocco Moretto, by his dear grandchildren,Katie Raggi & her husband, Matthew, Jim Moretto, Tyler Wojtowicz & her husband, John, Ashley Sofio & her husband, Christopher, Barbara and Theresa Jacangelo, by his cherished great-grandchildren, Laura, Willy, Madeleine and Wojtowicz twins on-the-way in March of 2024. He is also survived by his uncle, Joey Bianco.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at Nazare Memorial Home Inc, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 3 PM-7PM. All will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 9AM, then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst where at 10AM a funeral mass will be offered. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jimmy's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjudesresearch.org. You may express condolences to his family by using our tribute wall.
