Jimmy Leon "Jimbo" Morgan, Sr. age 67, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. Jimbo was born on September 3, 1953 in Perry to the late Mr. Noah and Effie (Taylor) Morgan. Mr. Morgan would come to work at the Bennett's Feed Store, where he would run the feed warehouse for many years. In his spare time, Jimbo enjoyed visiting with family and friends and loved to tinker around in his yard. He worked six days a week, so he enjoyed his Sunday drives with his wife. If you came to Jimbo's house and found him without a cold beer in his hand, something was typically wrong.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Tom Morgan; sister: Maryann Mattox; and a daughter: Ashley Morgan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-seven years: Mrs. Terry Morgan of Jacksonville; sons: Jimmy Morgan Jr. of Jacksonville, Chris (Michelle) Morgan of Macclenny, and Timmy (Mindy) Morgan of Macclenny; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings: Bobby Morgan and Kathy Williams of Jasper, Rachel Moore of Starke, and Joyce Larson of Lake City; as well as extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 11:30 AM at Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Terry Yerby officiating.
Hawke M. T. Forbes and H.M. "Hank" Forbes Jr. of Forbes Funeral Home are honored to assist the Morgan family with arrangements. "With Your Family In Mind". (904) 259-4600. Please leave your condolences for the family in the online guestbook at www.forbesfuneralhome.net.
