Jimmy Norris

James "Jimmy" Fred Norris, 74, of Ninety Six, husband of Brenda Norris, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born on October 15, 1951, in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Aubrey C. Norris and Pauline Summers Norris. Jimmy was a US Army veteran where he ranked as a SPC5 and retired from Solutia. He was a passionate fan of the Carolina Gamecocks and enjoyed many joyful moments cheering for his team. In his spare time, he cherished the great outdoors, finding happiness in hunting and fishing, and took pride in maintaining lawn mowers, a reflection of his commitment to excellence in all aspects of his life. Jimmy was a lifelong member of St. Paul Methodist Church and also attended Ninety Six First Baptist Church, where he formed meaningful connections and friendships. He had a remarkable ability to engage anyone in conversation, sharing his stories and laughter with those around him and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Jimmy was a mason with the Eureka Lodge #47.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, infant Rebecca Norris and Amy Truelove; son-in-law, Jim Truelove; adopted son/grandson, Gavin Truelove; grandson, Brantley Davis; a brother, Leonard "Len" Norris, sister-in-law, Shirley Norris; and special aunt, Ruby Summers.

Surviving in addition to his beloved wife of 36 years are his children: Hope Norris (William Brown), Heather King (Brian) and Jamie Norris (Laura); and grandsons, Landon King and Easton Brown.

Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Ninety Six First Baptist Church where the service will be livestreamed on the church's YouTube site. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jon Stephenson, Brian Jones, Tony Leopard, Tim Terry, Mike Peeler, Easton Brown and Landon King.

Honorary escort will be the members of the Eureka Lodge #47, along with Stanley Vines, Calvin Butler, Jimmy Brock, Tim Jones and Doug Neal.

The family will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8pm.
