Jimmy Watson O'Neal

Dunn, NC: Mr. Jimmy Watson O’Neal, age 80, of Beasley Street passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Family will receive friends following the service. Officiating will be Mr. Chad Strickland.

Mr. O’Neal was born on October 8, 1945 in Harnett County to the late Cray Watson and Ola Mae Tart O’Neal. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby O’Neal. He retired as a teacher with the Cumberland County Public Schools after 30 years and was owner and operator of O’Neal Tree Service for 15 years. Mr. O’Neal was an avid fisherman, liked being outdoors, and running a chainsaw. He also owned and operated The Potting Shed growing plants in his backyard. Mr. O’Neal enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren. He was a volunteer at Aversboro Battlefield and drove for many of the local car dealers delivering and transferring cars.

Mr. O’Neal is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Johnson O’Neal; son, Adrian O’Neal and wife, Melissa and Adam Johnson O’Neal and wife, Katrina; grandchildren, Lauren Craig and husband, Colby and Alex O’Neal and wife, Abbey, and Georgia O’Neal; great-grandchildren, Lyla Craig, Watson O’Neal, and Baby Craig due in April of 2026.
