Jimmy E. Odom

Jimmy E. Odom, age 63 of Dover, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Tristar Horizon Medical Center ER in Dickson, TN. His body is to be cremated and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date, conducted by Pastor Josh Cunningham. Burial of his ashes will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jimmy Odom was born in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Carmen C. Odom and the late Carleen Mallard Odom. He is survived by his daughters, Sara Anne Odom Mason of Huntingdon, West Virginia, Shannon Leigh Odom of Proctorville, Ohio, Erica Emhovick of Texas, and Kayla Odom of Dover, Tennessee; son, Brandon Odom of Dover; step-daughter, Lena Greenfield of Sweet Ridge, Colorado; step-sons, Ralph, Gary, and Steven Baker, all of Paris; by grandchildren, Mason and Carlie Cunningham; Logan, Laynee, Levi, Landon, and London Emhovick; Caleb Edward Adams; Eric Lee Mason, Jr., Brandon Chase Mason, and Marlaya Da'nae Dean; great-grandchildren, Raiden Kai Mason and Asher Chase Mason; sisters, Diana (Clyde) Smothers and Angela Odom; brothers, Joey Odom and Carmen (Lisa) Odom. Mr. Odom is also survived by Sara and Shannon's mother, Patricia Ann Odom, by other family members and numerous friends.
Besides his parents, Jimmy is also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Odom.
Mr. Odom worked as a carpenter and concrete truck driver. He was a vocational school graduate who enjoyed music and playing his guitar. Most of all, Jimmy's children were his world.
Jimmy "Big O" Odom, affectionately known as the Mayor of Standing Rock, passed away unexpectedly. He was a figure of strength and respect, often feared by many, but those who knew him well, understood his kind heart. Jimmy was a beloved father and a cherished friend to many. Known for his "no nonsense" approach to life, he endured many struggles, yet to know him was to love him. Jimmy left a lasting positive impact on his community and despite his challenges, he found redemption and peace in his later years. His legacy of compassion and strength will always be remembered. This world will not be the same without him and standing Rock Creek will surely run dry. Jimmy was a free spirit and a rebel at heart, the greatest father and friend anyone could ask for. Fly high until we meet again, as you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
