Jo Nell Adams

Jo Nell Adams, 83, of Kirbyville died Friday, January 30, 2026 at Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Central Baptist Church in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm Wednesay prior to service.

Jo was born December 31, 1942 in Shelbyville, Texas to G.A. and Faye (Dry) Wheeler.

In January 1959 she married Ted Adams and they moved to Kirbyville in July 1966.

Jo worked as a Kindergarten Teacher at First Baptist Church in Kirbyville and then as the office manager for E.E. Stringer Funeral Home for many years. She also served as the secretary/treasurer of Kirbyville Cemetery Association for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ted Adams: children, Alisa Randolph and husband Wendell; Michael Adams and wife Lorie; and Tim Adams and wife Adrian; all of Kirbyville; siblings, Dickey Ray Wheeler of Junctiion City, Kansas, Gladys Bennett of Houston, Ricky Wheeler and wife Jeannie of Leesville, and Ronnie Wheeler and Wife Denise of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Leslie Scott, Lindsay Randolph, Bradlee Adams and wife Holly, Mikey Adams and wife Anna, Zoey Adams, Shelby Adams, Harlee Adams, Khyli Adams, Bella Adams and Marlee Adams; great grandchildren, Aly Scott, Brodee Adams, Emelia Adams, Oaklee Adams, Trace Adams and Brady Adams due in February.
