Jo Ann Crawford Perkins, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 96. She lived a long life filled with love, family, and quiet strength.
Jo Ann grew up in the Oklahoma City area and attended Edgemere, Harding, and Classen schools. She later continued her education at Lindenwood and the University of Oklahoma, where she was a proud member of the Chi Omega sorority and formed friendships that lasted throughout her life.
In 1955, she married Leon “Blair” Perkins Jr. Together they built a loving home and raised their four children: Blair, Tricia, Cathy, and John.
Jo Ann was deeply involved in her community and loved volunteering. She dedicated many years to Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Belle Isle PTA, Junior Hospitality, the Scouting program, and supporting children and families in her community. She cherished her many years working at Heritage Hall Middle School and Upper School until her retirement. After retiring, JoAnn spent many wonderful years as a docent at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
Throughout her life, Jo Ann was known for her kindness, resilience, and warm spirit. She had a way of making those around her feel welcome and cared for, and her home was always a place where family and friends could gather.
She is survived by her children, Blair (Suzi), Tricia, Cathy (Greg Maloney) and John (Shellee), as well as her beloved grandchildren, Blair, Sara, and Katie Maloney and Grace (Connor) Watts and her other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon “Blair” Perkins, Jr.
Jo Ann’s legacy of love, service, and devotion to family will live on through the many lives she touched over her 96 years. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
A celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Smith & Kernke at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association and the American Cancer Society.
