LA CROSSE - Jo Ann Eversole, 97, of La Crosse, passed away at Gundersen Health System on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, following a short illness. She resided at Eagle Crest South for the past 9 years.

Jo Ann was born to Margaret and Walter Wicklund in Sioux City, IA, on July 26, 1927. After she graduated from Leeds High School she worked as a bookkeeper for a local plumbing and heating company. It was here she met her first husband, Dwight Kemp. Dwight and Jo Ann were married in 1950 and moved to La Crosse a year later. They raised four children in La Crosse. Jo Ann was active in volunteer work for Blessed Sacrament Church and the local Boy's and Girl Scouts. Dwight worked at W.A. Roosevelt. Jo Ann made many friendships with people connected to both the church and to W.A. Roosevelt Co. In October of 1972, Dwight died.

Jo Ann began her career at Eversole Rogers Dealership in 1964. She built a network of friends and co-workers during her 45 years at the dealership. In 1995, Jo Ann married her second husband, Les Eversole. They enjoyed retirement years traveling to Alaska, Florida, and other destinations through Wisconsin and the country. Les passed away in August of 2007.

Jo Ann is survived by her four children, Michael (Lynda) Kemp, Trish (Bill Kehl) Beckett, Sharon Kemp, and Mary (Mark) Spears. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and their spouses and partners, as well as eight great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. A Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Brian D. Konopa officiating will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, followed by coffee and desserts at the church. The family is choosing to have a private burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
