Myers Funeral Service and CrematoryOur beloved Suzi Kanady entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the graceful age of 87. Born beneath the Oklahoma skies on December 9, 1937, to Wesley Hobart and Nellie Irene Webb, she began a life rich in love and adventure. The family settled in California, spending time in Upland and Lamont before establishing their home in Porterville.
After graduating from Arvin High School, Suzi followed life's melody to Porterville, where destiny composed the sweetest harmony, introducing her to Jim Donald Kanady, the love of her life. Their duet began on March 4, 1966, and played on for a lifetime. Together, they raised their son Craig. Suzi retired after dedicating many years to the Porterville Developmental Center, where she held numerous roles and formed lasting bonds with her colleagues and clients.
Suzi's greatest passions were her family, music, and art. Her son, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews cherish countless memories of adventures with Mom, Grandma, or Aunt Suzi. A gifted musician, she could pick up a guitar or sit at a piano and play beautifully without a sheet of music. Family gatherings were filled with harmonies as Suzi sang alongside her sister and nieces. Her artistic talents were equally remarkable, and her home was adorned with paintings, charcoal sketches, and stained-glass creations, each piece reflecting her extraordinary imagination.
She is survived by her son, Craig Kanady (Lisa); grandchildren Jaime Marie White (Daniel), Matthew Douglas Kanady, and Kylee Luann Kanady; great-granddaughters Rose Marie Odell, Kayzlynne Marie-Leighanne Kanady, and Mkynnah Mattie-Marie Kanady; her brother Jim Webb (Chris); sister Dorthy Sharp "Dottie" ; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Donald Kanady; her parents, Wesley and Nellie Webb; her brothers, Wayne Webb, Edward Webb, and Jerry Webb; and her sister, Irene Ketcham.
She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grams, Mama'am, Aunt Suzi and friend. She was a professional shopper, classic artist, singer, musician, avid storyteller, gardener, amazing home and Christmas tree decorator and an inspiration to all who knew her. Her warmth, creativity, and zest for life will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
