Jo Ann Miller

1932 - 2026

Jo Ann Miller, 93, of Lexington, Kentucky, widow of Harry M. Miller, daughter of the late The Rev. R.H.F. and Ada Mae Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. She is survived by one son, Barney (Renee) Miller; one daughter, Connie Miller Cravens; three grandchildren, Morgan, Brent, and Bryce Miller; and multiple nieces and nephews.

She graduated from the University of Kentucky where she was active in Guignol plays, the President of the Future Teachers of America, a member of the Phi Beta Music and Speech Honorary, and a member of Beta P. Education honorary. Jo Ann taught at Maxwell Elementary for a short time and was a past board member of the Lexington Philharmonic Society, and Friends of Music. If you ever had the opportunity to see Jo Ann perform, you would realize her enthusiastic acting and amazing singing voice in productions like A Grand Night for Singing, and Shakespeare in the Park along with many others. Jo Ann, also known as Mom, Mom Jo, and Mamaw, was a very kind and giving person. A very talented homemaker who always wanted to feed family and friends. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. Telling jokes was something she loved and was fantastic in her delivery.

We are very thankful for all the neighbors at Wellington Arms that always made a point of including her with the young crowd and later in life all of the caregivers that were a big help.

A visitation to honor Jo Ann's life legacy will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 02:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky, 40507. A service of remembrance will be held from 02:30 p.m. to 03:00 p.m. Private interment will be at The Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jo Ann's memory are suggested to Temple Adath Isreal, 124 North Ashland Avenue, Lexington, Kentucky, 40502.
