Jo Ann Morrison

1940 - 2023

John 11:25-26. Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die."
Mrs. Jo Ann Bellamy Morrison, 83, was born in Iredell County on January 8, 1940, to the late Ralph and Ollie Johnson Bellamy. She departed this life on Friday, March 10, 2023 at her residence.
Jo Ann graduated from Unity High School with the Class of 1957 and Statesville Business College.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Morrison; two daughters, Suprenna Tabor and Tara Morrison, a grandson, Chadrick Bellamy; sister, Mary Moten, a brother, Josephus Bellamy, a son-in-law, Ronnie "Duck" Gray; a nephew, Kevin Gray and a sister-in-law, Barbara Bellamy.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, three daughters, Cynthia (Stanley) Campbell, Shelia Gray, and Paulette Morrison; son-in-law, Selwyn Tabor; four brothers, Walter Bellamy, who was raised in the home, Hubert (Louise) Bellamy, Beauford (Betty) Bellamy, and Willie Bellamy; one sister, Emmaline Bellamy; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Renwick, Brandon Bellamy, Ebony Feimster, Tristan Morrison, Anthony Renwick, Charity Morrison, Cree Tabor, and Byron Eckles; ten great grandchildren, Rasheed Davidson, Da'Quan Morrison, Qualin Keaton, Tyrron Morrison, Zoey Reid, Gavin Renwick, Chase Morrison, Byron Eckles Jr, Ayden and Jayden Nunn; two brothers-in-law, John Robert (Susan) Morrison and Steve Morrison; sisters-in-law, Ann Morrison, Evelyn Gibbs, Faye (Ricky) Beatty, and Linda Prattis; two uncles, Arthur "Bobby" Bellamy and Fred Bellamy; special nieces, Susan Morrison, Tammy Bellamy Williams, Kimberly Bellamy, Lisa Deese, Charlotte Bellamy, Porsher Bellamy, Tina Jackson and Donna Feimster; special nephews, Roger "Wayne" Bellamy, Gerald Bellamy, and Todd Bellamy; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Statesville, NC, 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 12:00 -1:00 pm, at the church. Reverend Brunson will be officiating the service and burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon AME Zion Church Cemetery.
