Jo Neisler

GEORGIA – Josette L. "Jo" Neisler, 87, of Snellville, Georgia, formerly of Metamora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Snellville, Georgia.

She was born on September 1, 1938, in Decatur, Illinois, to Joseph William, Jr. and Mildred Louise (Stanton) Mettam. Jo married Lawrence Neisler, Sr. on September 7, 1956, in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2012.

Surviving are her children, Cynthia Canova of Watkinsville, Georgia, and Lawrence (Diana Kaneva) Neisler, Jr. of Plovdiv, Bulgaria; grandchildren, Joe (April) Canova, Rob Canova and Kate (Jessica) Canova; great-grandchildren, Avery Canova, Grady Canova, Dylan Verdi and Tenley Verdi; siblings, Terry Mettam of The Dalles, Oregon, Dan Mettam of Pekin, Illinois and Ione Mettam of Ironton, Missouri.

Jo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a devoted advocate for her family. She was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. Most importantly, she lived her life rooted in her Christian faith. She found strength and comfort in prayer, and trusted fully in God's promises. Her family finds peace in knowing she is now home with her Savior.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Ron Klassen officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rural Home Missionary Association (RHMA) or Samaritan's Purse.
