Jo Lee Morris Thorn passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side on March 16, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.
Jo Lee was the baby of the family, born to Grace and Russell Morris on January 11, 1941 in Seymour, Texas. Jo Lee loved her church, memorizing scriptures, studying science, riding horses, the 4-H, driving trucks, and singing. In 1958 Jo Lee married the love of her life, Wesley Thorn. In her words they “had 47 years of marriage, some good and some not so good. But that is life ups and downs”. It was clear to all who knew Jo Lee and Wesley that they loved each other deeply, and she looked forward to seeing him again in heaven. She enjoyed her days as a housewife, but then found herself busy as a realtor from 1979 until just weeks before her passing. On the weekends you could often find Jo Lee on the lake, fishing and boating with family and friends. Jo Lee was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother which kept both her hands and heart full for many years.
If you wanted advice or just a listening ear, you could find it with Jo Lee. She would tell you exactly what she thought, and her honesty could be brutal but it was delivered with love. You could always find Jo Lee kidding around with someone, and her laughter was infectious. More than a few found a second home at Jo Lee’s and whether they came for the chicken fried steak with cream gravy or just to watch the game, all were welcomed as her own.
Jo Lee was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Grace and Russell Morris, her brother and sister-in-law, C.R. and Peggy Morris, and husband, Wesley Thorn. Jo Lee is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Nita Morris, son Joe Thorn, daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Frank Bonner, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and countless others she adopted as her own.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, March 26th in the Lighthouse at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church. An additional memorial will be scheduled in Seymour, Texas.

Joe and Paula, we loved Joe Lee and Wesley and have so many wonderful memories of the years that we shared together as friends. The many years of getting together in Seymour or meeting at the lake. Remembering the times spent around the camp fire listening to stories. Sending you hugs.
