Joan Avery Obituary
A funeral home service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM.
Entombment will follow at Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.
Joan G. Avery, 93, formerly of Ulster Park died Monday December 15, 2025 at Ferncliff Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 24, 1932 in Queens, New York she was he daughter of the late Herbert and Gladys (Hoffman) Metzger.
Joan was an assembler at Hercules Powder Company. She was a member of the Esopus Seniors Club where she was a past secretary, Mannerchor Damenchor, and the Salvation Army in Kingston.
She is survived by her son Donald Fisher. Grandchildren Sarah Fisher, James "Jamie" Fisher and his wife Tally, Sam Fisher and Kaylee Fisher-Gaines. Seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Francis Avery Jr., brother Kenneth, son Arthur Fisher and grandson Jason Fisher.

May Joan find eternal rest with Christ. RIP with Francis "Squeaky". I remember them both very well. May Christ grant Peace and Grace to family still living which will miss her dearly. Jim Brown ( formerly of Port Ewen ).
