Joan Anne Avila (Miller) age 82, went home to be with our Lord Sunday November 2, 2025 after battling complications that arose from an accident she had in The Villages, Fla on Dec. 12, 2024.

Joan was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 26th, 1942 to Raymond and Norine Miller (Hess). Joan graduated from South High in Cleveland Ohio where she was lead majorette. She married James E. Avila on April 28th, 1962 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Cleveland. Joan worked at MTD while raising us kids in Brunswick, Ohio. She went to a local college where she took Medical Assisting which landed her jobs in an Oncology office then with a Cardiologist office. After retirement, she and Jim moved to The Villages in Florida where they have resided for the past 12 yrs. Joan also took care of her mother Norine Figura shortly after they arrived in Fla. for the last 6 yrs. Her mother is now 101 yrs old so Joan and Jim did a great job taking care of her. Joan picked up scrapbooking where she made many friends at their scrapbook sessions who miss her terribly. Joan also had a beautiful singing voice. She sang many Patsy Cline songs at karaoke.

Joan is survived by her husband of 63 yrs, James E. Avila, mother Norine Figura (Miller), brother William Miller and Arlene Miller. Daughters Deborah Henderhan (Tom), Denise Avila, Laura Carrino and Daniel Avile (Nancy). She is also survived by her grandchildren Kristin Aldridge, Connor Aldridge, Rachel Avila, Gabrielle Avila, Colin Avila, Brian Morrow, Jason Morrow and Micheal Deegan as well as nephews Ryan Miller and Douglas Miller.

She is preceded in death by her father Raymond Miller, step father George Figura and grandson Joey Carrino.

As of right now, there will not be any funeral services.
