Joan Bartos Obituary

Joan Bartos, born April 22, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. Joan passed away peacefully at home February 6, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona.

Joan was raised in and around Hamtramck and New Baltimore, Michigan where she attended school and Community Colleges in MI and AZ.

Joan started her professional career at Hamtramck Citizen newspaper, and United Motors in Detroit, MI. After marrying her husband Mickey (Ed), Joan was proud to be at home and being a part of daily lives of their three children and worked with Mickey supporting the family businesses. In 1984, Joan (and Mickey) arrived in Tucson and worked temporary services, eventually retiring from GMAC (Tucson).

Joan had many interests, including, piano playing, tole painting, arts and crafts, cross country skiing, polka dancing, sewing, acting, and driving with Mickey around the country sight-seeing and visiting family and friends. Joan gladly volunteered for band boosters, cub scouts, friends of the library, altar society, and was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Parish for over 40 years.

Joan is remembered by her beloved husband Mickey (Ed), of 68 years, and three children Dave (wife Karen), Chris, and Kathy. She is the daughter of Charles Lintner and Cassie (Kadykowski).

Joan was very proud of her Polish and Catholic heritage and her large Polish family that was such an important part of her life. She was very fun, bubbly, and outgoing and will always be remembered for her wonderful laugh. She will be dearly missed.
