Joan C. Cavezza passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday June 28th, 2022. Born in New Brunswick NJ on July 7th, 1943. She resided in New Brunswick until moving to Milltown in 1972. Joan went to school and became a registered nurse. She most recently worked for the State of New Jersey at the Old Soldiers Home in Edison before retiring in 2011. Some of her favorite activities were bingo, reading and spending time with her family. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown and a member of the Nursing Association. She's predeceased by her parent Robert Reid and Irene (Kormody) Nelson, and her brother Ronald Nelson. Joan is survived by her husband Jerry Cavezza; her sons Joseph Cruz (Mary) of Milltown, Aniello Cavezza (Michelle) of Hendersonville Tennessee and Anthony Cavezza of East Brunswick; her daughter Lisa Cavezza of Milltown; her grandchildren Joseph, Elizabeth, John, Jamie, Aniello Jr, Sierra, Jesse, Theresa and Anamarie; and 9 great grandchildren; her brothers Bobby Reid (Anne) of Florida and Buddy Nelson (Terri) of Manalapan; and her sisters Annette Baughn (Duke) of Tennesse and Lori Bruns of Old Bridge. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, June 30th, from 4:00 -7:00 pm at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, 10:30 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Milltown.. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in North Brunswick.
