Joan K. Coldsmith, 92, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born September 4, 1931, in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Gladys and James Mellott.
She attended Fort Loudon Elementary and Lemasters High School. She was employed at Knouse Foods, and owned and operated the North Point Tavern with her Husband Donald. She enjoyed watching the Eagles, and Phillies, and also enjoyed Bingo and spending time with her family. She attended the Zion Reformed United Church of Christ.
Joan is survived by her son William Poe of Fort Loudon, Grandchildren Jamie Poe, Kristi Poe, and Tracey Halter, Sisters Shirl Mellott of Fort Loudon, Monica Hershey of Shippensburg, and June Gearhart of Mississippi, and her Special Niece Lori Gearhart Kolinski, along with other Nieces and Nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Donald Coldsmith, she was proceeded in death by her brothers James R. Mellott, Charles Mellott, and Jack Mellott, sisters V. Louise Nelling, Ruth Johns, Nancy J. Ray, and Rose Wilson, Son Rick Poe, Grandson Ricky Strine, and Grandaughter Jennifer Poe.
The Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 9, at Sellers Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Dunkel officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and entombment will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
