Joan Carol Corsi (Fallon), a beacon of love and strength, passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving children.
Born on November 23, 1939, in
Boston, MA, Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel (O'Brien) Fallon.
Joan's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. As a single mother, she raised four remarkable children: Janice Corsi of Hyde Park, Paul Corsi and his wife Barbara of Franklin, Christopher Corsi and his wife Elizabeth of Walpole, and David Corsi and his wife Michele of Dedham. She stood as the matriarch of a family that expanded to include her adored grandchildren, Jack, Thomas, Brendan, Jake, Joseph, Patrick, Colleen, Kaylie, and her great-grandson, Carson, all of whom she loved deeply.
Joan was the loving "Nana" whose strength and courage will hopefully be carried with them throughout their lives. Joan was also the sister of the late Robert and Frederick Fallon. Her legacy is carried on by the many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends who felt the touch of her caring spirit, including Drew and Carol Kavanaugh, Patricia Lovett, John and Jean Corsi, and the late Marie Sullivan. Joan's presence was a cornerstone in the lives of those who knew her, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.
An alumna of Hyde Park High School, Joan's professional journey began after her children started elementary school beginning at McDonald's on Hyde Park Ave, then a brief stint at the Bank of New England followed by a 20-year career with the Parking Department at Boston City Hall. She eventually retired in 2009 to spend more time with her loving daughter.
Joan's passions included her family, friends, traveling, and slot machines. She had an infectious love for the excitement of Disney World, Atlantic City and Las Vegas, where she and her daughter would collect all of their memories together. She would also enjoy all of the day trips she took with the senior citizens from the Hyde Park Municipal Building. Ever devoted, Joan dedicated her life to caring for her daughter and embodying the essence of selflessness and love.
Beyond her roles as mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Joan's journey began on Blake st. in Mattapan and then eventually moved to Greenbrook rd. in Hyde Park where she would raise her 4 children. The words that best describe Joan are strength, courage, and love.
She approached life with a passion that inspired those around her, a courage that defied the odds, and a love that knew no bounds.
Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In her passing, Joan leaves behind a legacy that will continue to thrive in the lives she touched. Her spirit, a blend of grit and grace, will remain a guiding force for her family and friends. Joan Carol Corsi lived a life that was full of strength and love, and she will be remembered with fondness and reverence for many years to come.
