My wonderful friend who has shared many lovely and tender stories with me over tea and delicious treats. I've known Joan for a few blessed years since moving in to the house across the street. But it seems like a long life journey with her because she let me in to her world and became a beloved friend. I will miss her dearly but I look forward to reuniting with her one day in heaven.

Mr. & Mrs. Crissinger were very close friends with my in-laws, Lorin and Helen Doyle. Joan and Helen were in a Child Study Club and I am certain that Joan was no doubt the last living member. The club quit meeting but there was a small group (Helen Doyle, Lucille Sprague, Marge Howell, Mrs. Castor and Joan) that would get together for lunch. I got to know Joan from taking her and Helen to the luncheons. I am a licensed real estate agent and she would be quick to tell me when she saw one of my signs in a lawn. She told me she would point to the sign and say "I know her!"
My husband, Jim Doyle, has told me the story of Ann´s incident that lead to her death many times over the years and he also knew Paul from the families being friends.
Joan sent us a very nice note in a sympathy card when Helen passed away that I will always remember. What a pretty, kind and gentle soul Joan was. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family now and in the coming weeks ahead.

How sad I am to hear of Joan's passing. She was a loving and caring person. She supported me in my run for mayor Ashland and we became friends. She and Chris were friends of my parents as well. We were readers and shared books and loved movies as well. What a lovely lady. So happy she is with her children and husband in heaven. Kim Studeny Calhoon
