JOAN B. DAVIS, age 67, of Landenberg, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Christiana Hospital. She was the wife of Gerald W. Davis, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of Mildred Cox Boyd of Landenberg, PA and the late Lawrence J. Boyd Sr. She was a 1962 graduate of Kennett High School. Joan was a homemaker and made the best Christmas cookies ever. She was a member of the Landenberg United Methodist Church. Joan enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, the beach and vacationing to Topsail Island with her family. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Davis Andrew and her husband Daniel of Forest Hill, MD and Cathleen Davis Luce and her husband John of Clifton, VA; two brothers, Jerry Boyd of Chula Vista, CA and Steve Boyd and his wife Eleanor of Avondale, PA; four grandchildren, Julia Luce and Jacob, Benjamin and Alexander Andrew. You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 10:00 to 12:00 on Friday morning, May 25, 2012 at the Landenberg United Methodist Church, 205 Penn Green Road, Landenberg, PA. Her Memorial will follow at 12:00. Burial will be private. Jerry and Family,
We were so sorry to learn of Joans death. She was a beautiful lady inside and out!! She always had a cheery smile and kind word for everyone.
I hope memories of family times together will bring you comfort and God in his Mercy brings you Peace.
Jerry, I know how much you will miss her...she was a special lady!
