Mrs. Joan Marie Fair

Mrs. Joan Marie (Cummiskey) Fair, of Bradford, Pennsylvania, born on February 3, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Mildred (Beck) Cummiskey and the late Robert Cummiskey, passed away at age 88 on November 10, 2018. She attended St Bernards for high school. She was in the fashion industry as a Retail Associate at Richards, and The Johnson Store. She was also a sitter for the VNA, and volunteered to feed the residents at The Bradford Nursing Pavilion. Joan was married to the late Andrew F Fair Jr. Her biggest joy was to raise her 5 children. Her sons, Andrew M (Therese, who passed on in 2015) Fair of Sacramento, California and Robert (Juliann) Fair of Hinsdale, NY. Her daughters, Kathleen (Thomas) Alter of Independence, Kentucky, Janet (Abbas) Kassir of Erie, PA., and Ann Marie (Patrick) Kellam of Bradford, PA. Her beloved brothers, Raymond Cummiskey and Gene Cummiskey and beloved sister Susan Costello, all reside in Bradford. She has 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Joan enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time with her family at State Park, drawing, and writing poetry. She was a member of St Bernards Church, and loved singing in the Choir. Those who wish may donate in Joan's name to The YWCA Victims' Resource Center, Bradford, PA. Joan Marie Fair in her desire to better the world has selflessly gifted her body to Science Care. A celebration of her life will be private and at the convenience of her family members.
